Freemasonry in France
Freemasonry in France is traditionally quite fractured, with no less than 11 Grand Lodges operating in the country. Most French Grand Lodges are Modern in nature, however many are not in amity with each other. The oldest and largest French Grand Lodge is the Modern Grand Orient de France (GOdF), founded in 1733. The country's main Ancient Grand Lodge is the Grande Loge Nationale Française (GLNF).
